Calm is a crescent moonlit evening view of the coast of Maine, framed by the dark branches of fir and spruce. The foreground is lit in soft pastel patterns and the overall feeling is one of calm. This painting is created with acrylic paint and artist designed, carved, and printed collage papers on a cradled birch panel. It is deeply layered and highly textured.
