Moonlit Sea 10x8

$350.00

Original Painting by Kelly B Desrosiers, 10”x8”,x1.25” framed and ready to hang.

In this artwork, I attempt to convey the magical feel of the coastal islands of Maine: a nocturne of moonlit water and lapping waves against rocky shores, cool breezes, and the smaller creatures that inhabit the area where land meets sea.

This piece is a mixed media artwork involving a multi-layered technique that I evolved over several years. A richly textured surface, with luminous color and visual depth results. For me, the overlapping patterns in layers of transparency and complexity represent the intertwined ecological relationships of this special place.

This painting has been created on a cradled wood panel with a contemporary white painted frame, with hanging wire attached. I handcraft each and every step of my process in my own modest home studio in Unity, Maine. Mine is a one-woman operation, start to finish!

I have used “staging software” to show the scale and appearance of this painting were it to be hung in different rooms. This allows me to show you how this unique painting would look hung above a bed, couch, or on a wall. It is to help you visualize the scale of the work in your own home or office.
