Popham Beach, 10x8
Original painting by Kelly B Desrosiers, 10”x8”x1.25”, ready to hang.
Popham beach as seen from Fox Island, the little offshore island that has in my experience been accessible at low tide. But don’t get caught there when the tide rises!
This piece is a mixed media artwork involving a multi-layered technique that I evolved over several years. A richly textured surface, with luminous color and visual depth results. For me, the overlapping patterns in layers of transparency and complexity represent the intertwined ecological relationships of this special place.
This painting has been created on a cradled wood panel with black painted edges, no additional framing required, with hanging wire attached. I handcraft each and every step of my process in my own modest home studio in Unity, Maine. Mine is a one-woman operation, start to finish!
