Coastal Cliffs 12 x 9

$400.00

Original Painting by Kelly B Desrosiers, 12” x 9”, ready to hang.

Coastal cliffs often have seabirds frolicking in the air above them. I realize they are looking for food in churning waters but they also seem like they are just playing. Cliff faces are darkened and a variety of rock shapes descend toward the sea. There is such variety of form and texture on the coast of Maine!

This piece is a mixed media artwork involving a multi-layered technique that I evolved over several years. A richly textured surface, with luminous color and visual depth results. For me, the overlapping patterns in layers of transparency and complexity represent the intertwined ecological relationships of this special place.

This painting has been created on a cradled wood panel with black painted edges, no additional framing required, with hanging wire attached. I handcraft each and every step of my process in my own modest home studio in Unity, Maine. Mine is a one-woman operation, start to finish!
