Lively Shore 10x8
Original painting by Kelly B Desrosiers, 10”x8”x1.25”, ready to hang.
This is a view from the Monhegan shoreline trail, just beyond Lobster Cove. It may be what they call “Washerwoman” but i am not sure. It is a series of rocks leading out seaward that certainly roils the heck out of the waves that come in there! There is always plenty of action there with waves and gulls.
This piece is a mixed media artwork involving a multi-layered technique that I evolved over several years. A richly textured surface, with luminous color and visual depth results. For me, the overlapping patterns in layers of transparency and complexity represent the intertwined ecological relationships of this special place.
This painting has been created on a cradled wood panel with black painted edges, no additional framing required, with hanging wire attached. I handcraft each and every step of my process in my own modest home studio in Unity, Maine. Mine is a one-woman operation, start to finish!
