Winds Sweep Down 24 x 18
Original Painting by Kelly B Desrosiers, 24”x18”x1.25", ready to hang.
Maine is wild and bold. Coastal lands emerge from the sea and rise from rock to forest to meadow. Distant islands provide perspective. Dynamic lines represent wind and movement. Birds ride the wind.
This piece is a mixed media artwork involving a multi-layered technique that I evolved over several years. A richly textured surface, with luminous color and visual depth results. For me, the overlapping patterns in layers of transparency and complexity represent the intertwined ecological relationships of this special place.
This painting has been created on a cradled wood panel with black painted edges, no additional framing required, with hanging wire attached. I handcraft each and every step of my process in my own modest home studio in Unity, Maine. Mine is a one-woman operation, start to finish!
